At For Sisters we work to give economic opportunity and financial stability to immigrant women. Through a series of workshops, courses and a mentorship program, we aim to share knowledge, expertise and inspiration with those women that have come to this country in search of a better life for them and their families.
The workshops and courses combine essential business and entrepreneurship skills including business planning, marketing, financial management, and more. Each participant is paired with a mentor who offers guidance, advice and support as they embark on their entrepreneurial journey. We also offer grants and microloans to help these women get their businesses off the ground, providing the initial capital they need.
It is our belief that through business and entrepreneurship skills and support, women can reclaim agency over their lives and enter the socio-economic fabric of the USA on their own terms. Through socio-economic empowerment, For Sisters hopes to allow migrant women with an entrepreneur spirit to defy and supersede the stereotypes and predetermined roles that society has imposed on them.
Our mission is to empower immigrant women in our community and support them in developing financial literacy and business acumen to enable them to gain socio-economic autonomy.
